Easter

Recall some aspects of Passover can clarify understanding of the Christian Passover. The Jews celebrated the Passover in commemoration of the eve of the exodus from Egyptian oppression in search of the Promised Land by God to Abraham. For Christians, Easter is Christ's passage from death to life and is the most important Christian holidays. On the Sunday before Passover, Jesus comes to Jerusalem to celebrate this feast with his disciples. Upon arrival is greeted as the Messiah but, a week, is sentenced to death and crucified. Consumed and redemption from sin and victory over death. During Holy Week recalls the triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. During the Easter Triduum (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) are made central to Easter celebrations.

Christmas




The commemoration of the birth of the Son of God has resulted in the entire Christian world one of the most cherished holidays and meaningful for the human spirit.

In Venezuela, as in most countries who celebrate it, Christmas is the occasion of family reunions, toast to peace and prosperity, special music performance - bonuses and bagpipes, in our country, and preparing elaborate dishes and beverages.

The climate is tempered, the sky is more transparent and different species have their time of flowering. One of the most popular flowers have beautiful large red or white flowers, is used to decorate this holiday season, his name is "Poisentia" and is popularly known as "Christmas".

In cities, religious observances have been reduced to the precincts of the Catholic churches in which they are installed elaborate stalls and large flower arrangements and Christmas are celebrated Sunday mass and the midnight Mass on Dec. 24 with music of bonuses and fireworks.

The shopping centers, main streets, squares and shopping areas are decorated with many artificial lights and big pines profusely decorated.

Valentine's Day




February 14 is Valentine's Day, Valentine's day, perhaps one of the most popular celebrations of the calendar, beautiful day in which millions of people around the world exchange cards, messages and gifts to show love, affection and friendship we feel for our loved ones.

Valentine was inducted into the Saints in 1969, was the Church who decided to erect pattern of lovers and decreed on 14 February as a day appointed for this feast. He says he did to end a popular pagan fertility festival in honor of the god Lupercus, who came from the ancient Roman tradition. But without a doubt has been the people who adopted Valentine as the patron of love par excellence.
